A former professional footballer who started his career at Arsenal, before returning to Scotland to play with 6 sides including Rangers, Kilmarnock and Partick Thistle.
On retiring from the game he forged a career in licensed retailing, firstly at Bass PLC, then as Operations Director/Shareholder at Scotland’s leading pub retailer, 800 employee, Pub.com, which was successfully sold in 2002.
Returning to football, he was CEO at Kilmarnock FC, Dundee FC, as well as Marketing and Recruitment Director at Clyde FC and Hamilton Academical FC and latterly CEO at Greenock Morton FC, where he played a key role in negotiating the pathway through COVID-19 for professional football.
He was also CEO of the UK’s largest independent Sports management company with clients such as Stephen Hendry, Sir Chris Hoy and Marc Warren. His role saw him introduce and broker several high-level sporting licenses, sponsorships, and live sporting events in China and the Middle East, which saw him working with governments and sporting associations.
In a diverse career path he has also worked for the BBC providing match day analysis and commentary.
David joined ZLX in March , initially with a growth restructuring brief, and was appointed Managing Director July 2021.
